Not in Macroman's league but I try my best ...

iMAC style fanbus, which I call the iBUS! I'm going to do more experimentation with different stuff to get the best effect and diffuse the light more - anyone any ideas?

I was thinking of spraying the inside of the box with the frosting spray used for Bit-Tech's etch idea - might work.

    See more at http://www.pcpowerzone.co.uk/clearbus.html

looks great! I'd build one if I had a window to see it through, but heh, I'm not a modder so I won't bother.

Macroman - he's a nutter. I'd better pay attention during my electronics lecutres.

Use an alternative light source and some accrylic acetate inside

Line the box with tissue or tracing paper and use diffused leds rather than clear. Leds don't get hot so there should be no problem. I've used this trick before. You may need to try different papers for the best effect.

BTW it looks pretty cool to me. ;)

    Sweet

Would look nice in the Juno case range.

Oh I have one, I did see these over at Maplins the other day but have been a tad busy.

Not sure on the impact with a cathode fitted, so that’s my only concern. If you have an LED lamp or a fluorescent lamp fitted it’s sure to stand out from a crowd.

Good job and nicely done :)

I'm off out to buy some and try spraying the inside of the box lightly, see if that works. Nice etch BTW.

Use some blue el-sheet that will give you a nice even glow.

    :)

It is a tad exspensive, well the inverters are.

    But its still good :)

Oh yer its a bitch to wire as well. My low watt soldering iron melted the stuff.

Blimey, Dyson should take some tips from RS components on Sucking.. their website registration certainly does.

The EL sheet looks nice but way too expensive for a £5 fanbus. I scoured all my local DIY shops today and no-one had the frosted glass spray - arse!

KNA - any chance u could send me a can? I'll pay including the postage obviously.
