Software Ice Hockey jersey I designed for Oxfords ladies team

Just thought i'd whack this up as it may be of interest to someone. My sister plays in the team and asked me design a jersey for them, they gave me the name Midnight Stars and I come up with this. It come out ok but because of short deadline it was a bit rushed. All done in Adobe Illustrator.

Basically the idea I come up with was a silhouette type midnight sky of Oxford with the obvious inclusion of some stars. I tried to keep things bold and simple but move slightly away from your average jersey design.

Lemme know what you think

 

It's a tidy design but I doubt you needed to be told that.

IMO there's too much going on.

If you get rid of the 'skyline' and the black, drop elements under the star I think it would be better.

I personally prefer cleaner, more to-the-point designs for things like this.

It is a nice design though, I'm not trying to negatively criticize your work!

the home jersey needs the lettering to be white with black outline - solid black doesn't pop enough on the blue background.

I'm only troubled with how phallic I think that star looks considering where it's placed and all

 

I have the same opinion, it was a total rush though so it didn't turn out how I would like it tbh (don't like it anymore). The usual can you do this for yesterday!

Thought the same thing the day after (when I was awake), but already emailed it.


I really need to start doing stuff on a regular basis, not really done anything at all in the past few years despite really enjoying graphic design
