My wife is currently working full time on a novel, whose main characters are a pair of indie game developers. A few months ago she knew next to nothing about game development so she has been researching every aspect of it to get to know her characters and how they think. During the process though she has discovered that she actually has more in common with her characters than she first thought... If you're interested, you can read her blog post "How researching indie game development unexpectedly deepened my understanding of being a writer". She found that Indie Game The Movie was very good at revealing the people behind the games. Has anyone come across anything else that shows what it's really like to be a games developer? Are there any developers reading this? - She'd love to hear from you!
