They're in good company: you try publishing a benchmark of Oracle's database, see what happens.
Good luck trying to enforce that policy anyway.
Don't VMWare also ban bencharks on/of VMs using their wares?
"that forbid users" - forbits (present tense) or forbade (past tense) surely.
Haven't scoured the licence, but the fact that VMmark is a thing suggests not.

Bets on whoever was assigned to prepare the release paperwork getting a bollocking for just copy&pasting the license for the pre-release test firmware (wot done gets sent to mobo manufacturers and the like before any sort of public rollout)?
