yes i know, more useless crap from me...

    BUT

after close examination of my CPU i noticed this..
    pic
(dont mock the paint skill, my camera is out of batteries)

Look at this pic, the red bit shows the are of my cpu that is , how can i descrive this, "missing". its not like a big die, its got that bit missing from it from the top as if it were chipped off.

Although the CPU runs fine and OCs OK. so is that anything to worry about?

If it ain't broke don't fix it - but it does sound worrying.

[offtopic]Where can I get the wallpaper in the second pic?

If part of the chip has been broken off, I'd call that a problem. Is the chip new? Try to get a replacement.

Bro has a 2500 with a chip as well (dropped his slk on it) and it works fine... if theres no prbs and it isnt under warranty then theres no point worrying...

oem doesnt mean you have no warranty. by english law it should still work for a resonable period of time (usually taken as a year).
oem just means no nice box or manual etc. dont believe suppliers when they say it means no warranty, any trading standards office will tell you it is warrantied.

The warrenty on OEM CPU's is very limited. I forgot what it is for AMD but i think its either 1 month or 3 months. Most retail CPU's have at least 1 year warrenty.

Well, as long as it works fine . . . but if it were me and I still had a warranty on it, I would go ahead and get it replaced just in case (and because I don't want an ugly chip on my chip :hehe:)

Either that or email to cibyr [at] l33treview.com thanks :thumb:

Oh yeah... and intel retail CPUs have 3 years warranty - or for me 2 days until I overclocked it :D

believe the AMD retail are 3yr and OEM are 1yr... Both assume you use AMD approved coolers though...
