    Hi Guys,

I'm not sure if this is the right place (1st Post) but here we go...

I'm right at the end of my A Levels and i need to know about recent developments in IT support. I've spent hours on google looking for recent developments but had no luck as of yet. Does anyone out there know of any? It would be a great help if anyone knows of ANY. :read:

    Thanks,
    Lauren

    How recent is "recent"?

Decent ticket tracking software is a "recent" addition by one definition. Bugzilla, Jira etc. I'd say this alone when used correctly to back up a well though out process is the biggest aid to IT support.

Romote Resolution, Virtual desktops, Ticket tracking by engineer and user.

I'm a Senior Systems Engineer for a large support company, what are you interested in?

The main push is for remote resolution and moving away from onsite support. Servers are 90 - 95% remotly supported, with over 80 % of desktop calls logged are resolved by a remote team. The is the reason for the large amount of off-shoring over the last 5 - 7 years.

Any questions please let me know.
