Windows Java on XP - excuse my lack of knowledge!

    Excuse my n00b-ness, but where can i get a Java-running thingy for IE6 on winXP (Virtual Machine or whatever doesnt seem to want to work)

    more specifics, m$ say:

    "The Microsoft VM update for Windows is no longer available at this site.

    Please visit Windows Update (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) to see if a Microsoft VM update is available for your operating system."

    windows update has... well... nothing about Java full stop...

    any ideas?

    Yeh its a complete pain that java doesnt come as part of xp.

    Every time you do a reinstall you got to install java too.

    hey i just reinstalled xp pro today again and tried to download java what a pain in the ass, typical microsfot though,
