    Hey guys,

other half gave me a Lycosa as an early x-mas present, literally a week ago today.

USB port on it doesn't work, and it's dropped connection twice in game in the last 2 days.

Going to return for a full refund, so I'll have some pennies to spend :)

Anybody got a suggestion for a keyboard in this price range?

    Cheers.

    Matt

Need a numpad ideally :) I prefer larger keyboards and I do a lot of numerical input outside of gaming!

Definitely worth going mechanical, with that budget you have a couple of options. The Steelseries 6Gv2 is £65 on Scan and has a numpad.

I'd go for a CM Storm Quickfire Pro at this price point. I've just moved from one of these to a Rapid due to a bit of desk downsizing, and the two boards are very comparable in action and build quality.

The proper hardcore mechanical keyboard enthusiasts will warn you off the Pro for no other reason than it was built by iOne instead of Costar, but having owned both within the last week (as well as having tried a number of other boards) the differences would only be noticed by an expert in the peripherals game.

Plus with the Pro you get the partial back-light for gaming as well as it being a full size board.

I uploaded some shots of it here. Of course, this depends whether you get on with Cherry MX red switches ;)

PM scott_chegg for a second opinion, I sold mine to him.

I've got a Sidewinder X4. I love it. It is backlit, has a nice numpad and a lot of macro keys. I've heard bad things about those Arctosas, or any Razer product in general. Apparently they flex a lot in the middle.

My Razer Naga's been going well last couple of years, had the Lycosa keyboard less than a week and it's buggered.

Got the 6GV2 coming via the other half tonight :)

    Cheers all for the help.

Got the 6GV2 BTW.. Fell in love with it as soon as I unboxed it.

The other half hates me due to the noise, but I don't give a monkeys!
