I'm looking for a new keyboard. I want something comfortable, but I want to stay away from natural style (so I don't want 300 suggestions for the MS Natural 4000! :D). I'd like something with at least a few multimedia controls (i.e. volume control). Price isn't much of an issue (preferably under $100 if possible) as I'm hoping to recieve it as a Xmas gift. :thumb:

For a keyboard on its own, the G15. The MX5000 is a good keyboard and mouse set though.

He said under 100 bucks and if he is willing to spend 104 the MX5000 is a sweet combo.

The MX5000 keyboard looked pretty sweet, however I don't really feel like paying extra for that MX1000 mouse as I already have one. But it seems like I can't really get a decent keyboard without a mouse combo nowadays (at least not from Logitech!). :blah:

Well I've dropped the idea of getting the MX 5000 as it's got a poor rating and some poor reviews.

I had been considering getting a G15 for some months, but I fear it will be a waste of money. I don't really game that much and thus think the macro keys will be nothing but extra space that makes the keyboard too big. I'm still thinking about it though.

Right now, I'm looking at the Logitech MX3100 and the L700. The keyboards are pretty much identical, they just come with different mice (MX1000 vs. other wireless mouse). Now, I already have a MX1000, but it hasn't been working that great for me (cursor skips sometimes). It may just be this paticular mouse as I believe it might be a refurbished mouse as I got it from a RMA of a MX700.

So if I get the MX3100 I can get a new MX1000 which will hopefully be better, otherwise I'll get the L700 and not use the mouse or give it to my brother to use.

Any comments on these two paticular keyboards?

I was reading reviews on the MX5000 and i dont like em'. So i wouldnt get it either. Id go with the MX3100 since its a laser and RF. I like the cordless desktop s510 too.

I second that. I love my eclipse. The keys feel amazing, and the board itself is high quality. It doesn't have any multimedia buttons like you're talking about, but every set of speakers I've ever seen has its own volume control... I personally set the volume on my computer to a set volume, then adjust my speaker volume.

Well, about that MX5000, I have just recently bought it. I have used it for a while, and i have nothing bad to say about it. OK, the lcd could be backlighted, but that is a small detail. There seems to be no lag ( my last mouse was just MX1000 ) and the keyboard aint lagging either. Anyways thumbs up from me for MX5000 ...
