    Is 4pin and 12v the same connection? (slap the knewbie!)

    you talking about the second mobo power connector? i think those are 12v

    Haha ok, let me specify. I'm buying fans right now, and some say 4 pin, some say 3 pin, and some just say 12v. I want to know if the 4-pin and the 12v connections are the same thing. (yeah my first way of puting it was confusing, sorry)

    My god, thats a completely diff. question. Yeah, i'm pretty sure that they mean the 4 pin connection.

    The 4-pin connects to the standard PC molex, it has 12v yes. The 3-pin connects to the mobo fan header.
