I was expecting at least one thread about the fuel "situation" but there is nothing. Is this the moderators being hypocritcal about free speech?
What situation? There is no freedom of speech here as this is a forum., what the moderators say goes.
What fuel situation is this? If you mean the idiots wanting to waste their time in queues, start a discussion and see where it goes but my view is there's nothing to discuss. EDIT: Oh and why bitch at the moderators? It's not their job to start discussions.
I'm guessing here but I thing Longweight's point is there is no situation, just an artificially created one that shouldn't exist at all at present.
I am just surprised at the lack, in fact, any comments about it at all. No situation? I beg to differ. All fuel in my town has sold out due to poor government advice and it has made a big impact on people. Yes, it's a daft situation. But it has been crazy.
While I don't know a massive amount about it (I don't own a car) I do certainly know that fuel prices have sky rocketed where I live, and I have friends who are struggling to buy petrol due to people stocking up.
If there's no fuel in your town it either has a high proportion of idiots living or passing through there who don't read or think is all I can imagine. There will be no "real situation" unless or until Tru_gamer goes on strike! PS Why on earth do you think the mods would stop such a thread if someone chose to start one?
Unfortunately, it's far from artificial. I cannot buy fuel because every petrol station has sold out locally due to panic buying.
It is an artificially created situation by people panic buying. Every garage I have pasted since Friday has had fuel.
And the reason for that is the local population are too flipping stupid to understand what they are being told. The first bit of information, the most crucial, is that there will be at least 7 days notice of any strike. Secondly, a meeting between the unions and management is scheduled for later this week, so from the point of the supposed crisis, there were going to be at least 11 days before a strike could take place. So no matter what any politician or newspaper said, there was no reason to do anything out of the ordinary. By the way, are you blaming the moderators here for buying all the petrol where you live? Is that part of your crazy conspiracy theory?
Yes but over what period of time? Most places seemed to run out on Wednesday / Thursday so they sold no fuel for most of that time until Saturday deliveries. Can you provide a source for that statistic?
