I have just replaced my laptop with a new Windows 8 machine. The new trackpad doesn't have seperate left/mouse buttons, which is taking a little getting used to.

When I am sat up to a desk, I use a mouse, but when in the arm chair, I have been using the track pad.

I am looking into buying a new mouse that could be used on the armchair - maybe a track ball...

    Any suggestions?

p.s. I will still be playing with the track pad as I am sure it will just take a bit of getting used to...

I particularly like the Logitech Marble Mouse - use it all day at work as it helps with my RSI. When I used to PC game I used it in Counter Strike as well, never really had any issues with it.

The great thing is that it's completely ambidextrous as opposed to other ones that put the ball on your thumb as opposed to your fingers.

Yeah I had looked at that one, it is on a Scan Today Only offer too at the mo - £28.50 (although I haven't looked to see if it is cheaper anywhere else).

My main mouse on my desktop is a G9x. I am using an M505 on my laptop though.

It would be handy if PCWorld down the road from me, had a trackball out on display so that I can try one out.

    Just a warning:
I have the Logitech Marble Mouse. It's a nice thing, but in my experience it takes a lot of getting used to and while you are getting used to it it's pretty frustrating. I'm still not a quick or as accurate as I am with a mouse and I find the lack of a scroll wheel an the button placement a bit awkward.
    Might just be me though.
