I got a LCD monitor from work and it works perfectly, WHY did they donate it to us? The base is broken into two pieces.. The base is made of plastic and metal... It's Dell 17FP.. the part that's broken is hard to apply pressure to make them stick together. So I need suggestion on what to use to put them back together.
Without pics it's hard for us to suggest something. But here's a link to a guy who made a base out of plexiglass (among the other things he did to the monitor). You can see the base on the fourth picture of page 3. Don't know if that is any help, but I tried. http://metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/transtft/index_eng3
Thanks for the link to metku. He has completed a very eye pleasing mod, which is functional as well. Touchwood
Don't sweat the steel case Hegemon, Its not as if you are going to be carrying your modded computer around, so why worry about its weight and material type. Why not try drilling rivets out in future instead of grinding their heads off!! Touchwood.
Not quite sure what you mean by the rivets, unless you're referring to my project log. In my discussion thread I commented that I should have used a drill but I'm kinda new to all of this and don't always know the best way to do things.
