Hi guys. I got this blue lcd of ebay and I want to wire it up to my pc. But I dont want to do it with a parallel cable. I prefer to pass everything via a serial cale and keep a molex for voltage and ground. Is it possible? Thanks
It's kinda hard to answer your question without knowing what type of LCD display that you got from ebay. Would a USB interface be acceptable for you? (side note: I am pretty sure that questions similar to this have been posted before. you may want to search the forum for other answers). If you have something similar to what was in an article on TheCodeProject then you may want to check out something in the comments at the end of the article. I had asked some one about the u401 interface. It sells for 50.00USD but the chip that is at the core of it is much cheaper. Some one had refered me to the FT245 which may be available cheaper and comes preprogrammed. It is a USB->parallel interface.
