I have a redhat box that I have networked and all works fine.

when I installed the half-life and CS server bits they all went ok as well.

    BUT!!

when I tried to run the server using: ./hlds_run -game cstrike +maxplayers 4 +map cs_assault

it starts going through a .pak file...this is taking about 6hours to run and then crashes.

Anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

    cheers

    speks

its dell machine PII 333 with 200megs of RAM. A 20gig drive.

Redhat 7.2 standard server build (i let the wizard install all).

It is on my LAN and I can ping, telnet and samba is working.

The machine is fast for everything apart from this.

I used the counter server instructions for a linux server and thats how far I got.

I am also getting a error about not finding country.cfg.

    cheers

    will stop the service...

I'll stop samba from starting and see what happens..

Not sure this will solve it, but its worth a try..

    cheers
