I wanted to build a pc to toy around with Linux. Does anyone have Linux running on a VIA EPIA Mini-ITX motherboard. If so would you recommend getting one? Have you experience alot of problems with it? I'm mainly worried about driver and heat issues.

    thanks

Replying from an EPIA (M10000) based system running Mandrake 9.1.

Mdk runs fine and 1GHz M10000 seems slightly faster than a 900MHz P3.
The onboard graphics doesn't work well under linux unless you're happy
with the SVGA driver (also tried VIA driver with Mdk 9.0) - if you want graphics
add a PCI NVIDIA card. Sound is good but you need the most recent VIA
driver. No network problems. Boots from network and USB as well as int
devs. Only gripe is that I can hear the CPU fan a few meters away and
using longhaul/govenor to control the CPU clock seems to hang the
    system.
