Saw it last night and oh my god - it really does live up to the die hard name :) The comedy, action, story - all very nice and well put together :)

Whoever said he wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time - all he went to do was pick up some computer hacker - nobody knew of the implication when they sent him :)

In terms of die hards, i think (from first veiwing...)...

    Die Hard 3 (the best)
Die hard 1/4 (can't decide yet, will have to watch both again! :))
    Die Hard 2

I've just caught a really crappy version of transformers and boy, if you think DieHard is over the top you need to see this movie. Definatly seeing it when i get back from egypt in a month. The action is..

    That was an awesome film.

Enough action, and enough drama, but boy was the action good.

I might have to go and watch it again.

Saw this last weekend. Absolutely brilliant film - so over the top it reminds me why I love the Die Hard films.

Saw this on Wednesday night and it definitely lives up to the original :)

It's good to see Bruce hasn't lost his touch - there's some pretty impressive stunts in there for a man in his 50's :cooldude:

I loved how the movie had a complete disregard for the laws of physics and gravity. Well worth the eight bucks. Now I've gotta go, uh, find... the originals.

Just saw this film today finally, loved every second of it. From the advert I got the feeling that they sent him in 'cos he's awesome but I'm glad they kept the the wrong place, wrong time theme of the Die Hard movies. Just goes to show that Bruce can still be a great action star at his age, although still doesn't top my favourite movie of his; The Fifth Element.

I've enjoyed seeing some of the great action stars of the 80's and 90's come back to show us they are still up to the job, we had Arnie back in T3, and now Bruce back for another Die Hard, all we need now is Indiana Jones :p Kinda sad, it's an end of an era, they definitely don't make them like they used to anymore, it's all 14 year old kids playing spys and crap like that with nothing but CGI stunts, there's a few good ones but none that have the character quite like the old ones.

    Damn right!

That was an awesome film. So crazy. Luc Besson at his best.

Strangely, although it's one of my favourite films, I still don't own the DVD. Probably helps it's on TV all the time :p

I bought it the other day. Watched the film, then the special features, then the film with commentary, and then the special features with commentary.

Did that with serenity too. (Joss Whedon may be a really cool director/writer but damn does he have a droll voice)

Why do absaloutely all of the camera shots in the film have a colour tinge to them?
The most common one was a blue tinge, then a reddish brown.
Other than that, the film had an interesting, if inaccurate portrayal of hacker culture.

I've yet to see a film which does.

Movie was ok, was a bit too much action, though I guess thats what a movie is for right, but still, I started getting bored actually.

How can you say that about Die Hard? I thought it was pretty good, apart from the really stupid bits.
Like the bit at the end where the bloke hits him with a burst of either 9mm/.45 sub-fire, no way would he be getting up anytime soon, or the bit with the F35 going underneath the underpasses etc to get him, surely the pilot would just sit 200 yards away and hit him with machine gun fire/another missile? What about the plastic bumper of the SUV holding it up in the lift shaft earlier on? That was particularily stupid tbh... :\

All in all though, a bloody good film for a cheesy action affair. Not quite as good as the others, but pretty good. :)

I always wondered why hackers needed spinning cubes, lines of scrolling nonsense which move too fast to be read, and 3D building schematics even architects don't have access to break into mainframes.

Because Nmap looks so plug-ugly that only The Matrix has used it. The only consolation is to turn the text green in terminal/console/command prompt.

Well, from what I saw, only one of the burst hit him, and he was down on the ground, the only reason he got up quickly was because the guy pulled him up.

What was more unrealistic was how the kid got hit just below the knee, but after a bit of screaming seemed perfectly fine.

I enjoyed it also, although my favourite is still the first, i find that it worked well as an actual film on it's own instead of carrying on an action franchise. I thought they could have had a better bad guy, since he started crying twice. you'd never catch Hans shedding a tear. i think the group of bads guys should have been asian as well tbh.
