I must confess that I had no idea that there was such a niche as "farm simulation controllers". Imagine my disappoint when these turned out to be "heavy-duty" steering wheels with an additional control panel, rather than a Guitar-Hero style plastic pitchfork or scythe with lots of buttons and knobs.

Wonder what this does to the long-awaited Star Citizen HOTAS?

What's the difference between flight and space peripherals? Is it the amount of flashing lights?

Control surfaces. Spaceflight needs a way to control more than in-atmosphere flight: think attitude jets, landing thrusters, that sort of thing.

Knowing Logitech, this should be good for all joysticks... I think?

This is very good news. Madcatz wasn't doing a great job with the Saitek stuff, which is generally excellent in both the hard core flight sim and space/arcade stuff. Glad it's gone to a good home.

Hmm, while I prefer Logitech as the Saitek quality isn't great and hopefully this will improve the X-5x series. It does reduce the number of companies and competition making controllers in the PC space.

Wow, whilst I have no idea what the market size for specialist gaming peripherals actually is, it seems like both Logitech and Saitek got a stonking deal here.

I really hope that this means a true XYZ joystick will now be developed for 6DoF space games. Logitech's latest products have been nothing short of excellent - I have a feeling they'll do an awesome job on a new line of peripherals.
