Has anyone got any recommendations for an 'immersive sim' type game?

    I have played:
    All the Deus Ex series
    Prey
    All the Bioshocks
    All the Thiefs (Worth playing)
System Shock 2 (And recent 1 remake)
    Alien Isolation
    Fallout 4
    Dishonored 1&2 (Many times)
All the Splinter Cells (Sort of immersive sim)
All the Half Life's and Black Mesas

    1st person viewpoint preferably.
    Cheers.

    Black Mesa: Source + Half-Life 2 + Episodes 1 and 2.
Does this count as scientist with guns sim?

    Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Starting as an illiterate noob is as immersive as you can get. First person all the way.

Took me a while to get into it.

Playing it again on the hardest difficulty with no fighting help and all of the ailments made it even more satisfying and enjoyable.

Not everybody's cup of tea though.

If you want a nice relaxing sim try Everybody's Gone To The Rapture. It's stunning.

    I HATED it..lol.
I guess immersive sims along the lines of the games I have played just aren't as plentiful as top down toy soldier or third person roll around and mash the controller games

I read that it is a walking sim as opposed to an immersive sim. Is it just lots of walking around and not doing much?

    Sort of.

Firstly it’s the most stunning game world I’ve ever been in. Second is the big names as actors in it. Merle Dandridge and some of the Bread cast are in it. There is a lot to do tbh, and a lot to see. The story won awards.

I won’t lie it’s very slow paced, but that bothered me none. I recently did it all again in 4k.

3 was awesome, but in part because of playing it at the time.

Same as hl1 will always be better than hl2 if you played it at the time.

Fallout 4 was just pants though lol

    A few left field suggestions:
    - Outer Wilds
    - Deathloop
    - Far Cry games
    - STALKER games
    - Oblivion/Skyrim? Though more RPG, but some quests are open ended
