Windows Looking for an IRC client

    Don't want to pay/use MiRC even though it is good.

    Looking for a good IRC client for windows which I can use to DCC stuff to/from friends

    If you're using firefox, I'd suggest using the chatzilla addon.

    irssi is a bit too CLI for me windows machine. Will use it on my linux one.

    XChat is not free.

    Xchat is what i use although MiRC is better as it has the ability to view all networks you are on at once instead of having to flick through them plus a few extras. but Xchat is among the easiest.

    XChat is terrible. The interface is badly designed, the GUI is drawn in software and so is incredibly slow and full of bugs (the chat window isn't redrawn properly if xchat is behind another window) and also it's not great on features.

    I've heard quite good things about http://www.klient.com/screenshots/default.php but of course that costs money. IRC has been around since the internet began. I honestly can't see why a decent free client has been made. uTorrent did it for BitTorrent, why not IRC?
