Ok, I set my Sky HD box to record Lost last night. Great. Last episode of season 5, and then straight into season 6. Only my box decided that I really didn't want to watch it at all, and failed to record either of them. Ah, but wait - all is not 'lost' - Sky Anytime to the rescue! Yes, two epsidoes in the stack. First episode of season 5 and - hang on, episode two of season 6? W.T.F? What numpty at Sky thought that was a good idea? Twonks. I now have to watch it tonight on Sky 2 - in normal def. Bah.
If there was ever a legitimate cause for 'acquiring' something from the world wide web, this is it. On a tangent, did you happen to watch Lost Reduced on Sky Anytime? Was interesting... As a general rule, I try to avoid Sky Anytime as I get serious sound issues with it on my Sky Plus box.
Call sky and tell them your box is faulty. Also try and claim compensation for loss of content you have payed good money for!
The problem is, the box isn't faulty. It's recorded everything else scheduled today with no problems at all - The 6 nations matches, MrsGoo's 'Yet Another Dancing Competition' programs and the Digital Revolution program that was on earlier. No clashes on the planner - they where set up as recordings, and nothing happened. I went into the planner at about 21:25 to start watching, and even though it was tagged to record from 21:00, it didn't bother. It was like it thought it wasn't the correct time to start recording. Luckily, as friend of mine has both episodes from iTunes, so I'm going over to his tomorrow to watch it. Knowing my luck, the car will break down or something.
Just grab a torrent for it in HD... loads of them. I don;t consider this theft, or anything bad. You can watch it on TV for free... so what does it actually matter where the data comes from. It's not as if you're downloading new cinema releases or pirated material... whats the difference between recording it on Sky+ or downloading a torrent? Grab a HD torrent.
huh. see, i had no problems watching lost whatsoever. i just checked my server and, magic! the episodes were there. in other news, don't bother, the opener sucked beyond belief.
Finally got to see it this afternoon courtesy of my mate's apple TV and his iTunes season pass. Have to disagree with you Fod. I thought the opener was intriguing... Spoiler What with the two parallel timelines that seem to be in effect, Jacob's 'death' and the revelation that Jacob's evil twin which is now taking the form of Locke, is the smoke monster. The bit where he tells Richard that he's free of his shackles now - was Richard a slave on board the Black Rock? There where some nice subtle touches as well. Greg Grundberg reprising his role as the pilot of OC815, if only his voice - and the re-apperance of the air hostess that got kidnapped by the others way back in the first couple of episodes of season 1. And the resurrection of Sayid - is he Jacob now? In the same way as the Ole' Smokey is now Locke?
