    Hi everyone,
been a lurker for some time here (fantastic forum, btw) but now I have a question...

I'm looking for a good low-profile graphics card for my second rig. I know that low-profile cards aren't that good, especially for gaming, but I could really use one, mostly for 3D modeling (Solidworks, Catia, etc.) and some gaming (CS 1.6, CoD2...).
I know anything would be better than the integrated GMA 900 (maybe 950, not sure :D), but is it worth the price? How "low" is the low end of graphics cards? Could I get performance in the line of (at least) nVidia 6600 in today's ATI's 2400 or nVidia's 8400 series? Or maybe the upcoming (or is it out already?) ATI 3450?

    Thanks in advance :)

edit: Forgot to mention, I need a PCI-E card :)

Could try a 8600GT example (ignore the pic, it IS a low profile card, review.)

I know that those 8600 GT's will play COD:4 with no issues, and they are fine cards for light gaming.

This seems a very good card (rat or no rat :D) but, unfortunately out of my price range and not available in croatia :(
Still, thank you very much for the idea Delphium :)

    Hi all,

    I'm currently scouring the nets for a low-profile 8600GT (preferably) or 8500GT.

I wonder if anyone has any live URLs to one in the UK? Or even a 2nd hand one for sale? (I have cash/paypal waiting =] )

    Much obliged for your time.
