I am looking into purchasing this backup software. There is a discount coupon where you can get the household 4 pack for $80 instead of $100. I've been doing a bit of testing with it in the past week and it seems to do the job pretty good. The interface may not be as nice and full of features like Acronis, but I've been reading about lots of troubles with Acronis. From working with it the past few days it seems good, but a week isn't enough time to test it. Is anyone here using this or have used it and can give some input on how you like it? What I'm mostly using it for is doing full image backups of my desktops/laptops to my server as well as doing image and file backups of my WHS 2011 server. Maybe doing daily/weekly backups is overkill for home pc's but having to reinstall incase of a drive failure isn't too good and I'm not fond of data loss, even though I have my files duplicated on my server and backed up online.
I have been using Macrium on and off for a number of years, only ever restored from it once. We use Acronis True Image at work and I must say I'm impressed. Using the live disk or USB install you can very quickly take a snapshot of entire drives. We use it to roll out new images. We have a batch of 32gb USB 3.0 sticks with compressed disc images on. Can have a machine re-imaged within 10 minutes. The Acronis suite is deffinatly a more flexible solution so it gets my vote.
