Thanks a bunch. if i ever get around to making one i'll be sure to get some pics! and again very nice. but i still have a few questions.

How did you mount the LED's to the plexi? and
What kind of swich did you use in the film canister? i am sorry about the questions but i ust want to get all the facts straight so i can start it and finish it instead of starting , then stopping to ask a Q, then restarting ETC... thanks a bunch

O:idea:      couldn't you take and ordinary black mouse pad and rip the top layer of and reapply to the plexi?

this has a plastic sheet that was on my other mouse pad, but i had time to experiment and just sanding with 150 grit works just fine so i guess if you make a "negative" of your design out of heavy cardboard, stick it on there with silicone or something that you can easily get off the plexi afterwards you can sand it and get the cardboard and silicone rubber off when it's all done
OR sandblast it very gently :worried:

If you just want the design, if you look at the stripe that's holding the frosted plasticyou can see that with the leds it kinda lights up so if you make your design out of a thin coat of silicone rubber or some kind of rubber glue under the pad it'll probably light up like those rubber feet or the glued strip :thumb:
BUT you'll still need a sanding or something similar to what i have to make your op. mouse work :eyebrow:

It should, if it is what i think it is, it's kind of a paint but with a reacton to air that makes the glass looks like when it's very cold outside with snowflakes patterns overlapping eachother. maybe the only problem you'll encounter is on the long run it'll scratch but you may try to clear coat it maybe :worried:

No prob, make sure you dont spray it like what i did, i got dust and drit on it, so it have a bunch of bumps, and i seen it halfway thur the drying and tried to clean it off, wasnt the smartes idea....

yeah, i've found that it works best with just 1 small coat about 8 to 10 in from the piece. the effect is better than sanding :thumb:
