    Hi all,

Changing from being a lurker to a poster ;)

    Wanted some cold cathodes...

I went into Maplins (Milton Keynes) today to be told "Nah mate all out of stock - next delivery October, but we don't stock them here anyway'. Came home, phoned Maplins (Northampton) to be told "Discontinued line mate - no more ever"

    Sigh!

I really want a bunch of these and wouldn't have minded paying the full price (ie actually paying for the inverter!).

Anyone got any ideas? I really really don't want to spring for the 20 quid a go there on offer for elsewhere!

Anyone prepared to pick a couple up for me if you're buying some for yourself? Postage and a (small!) finder's fee paid...

    cheers - Jon

We do stock them; catalogue numbers RP33 to RP39 inclusive. Discontinued? Rubbish...
Out of stock? I'll check for you tomorrow...

All stores can transfer stock so get them to do a search for you and transfer some from other stores.

Thanks for the replies and the welcome.

Can I get them to do this over the phone? To be honest, neither store is very close (about a 30 min drive) and I pretty much got the brush off today - don't fancy another wasted trip...

    thx again - Jon

Yes, but some staff can't be bothered quite frankly and will say "we can't do that over the phone". It's best to phone, find out who they can transfer them from and go and pay a tiny deposit for them. It'll be worthwile to see their pissed off face when you offer them a pound deposit...

    Milton keynes are showing 2 x black (RP34) 2 x green (RP35) and 2 x pink (RP36) in stock.

also they have 8 PSUs (RP39) on thier system.

Get them to check by stock code first.

    Good Luck.
