    If you say so - i got the 150bhp gt tdi, gives me up to 60mpg on a run and is quick enough for me as an everyday driver, certainly quicker than a lot of other cars knocking about.

    I'm not sure what's what with my Mk 2, it has been well serviced an' all... but I'm getting on average 32-33mpg and I've done almost 260miles on just over half a tank of Optimax (got about 2/5's of a tank left).

    My old 16v used to get about 340miles (if I was lucky) from a full tank.

    Not too bad for a 15 yr old car that just passed it's 160k birthday, if you ask me.

    I love the look of the deep-dish alloys on the golfs.
