It is US layout bear that in mind but otherwise that is a worthy purchase I would say.

 

Yes, the oni seems to be quite nice too. I keep forgetting about it since it is just released.

I bought mine and did a break down of the "real" cost of one, I think it was ~$140 shipped because I got ~$50 worth of stuff I didn't really need

Cheers for the advice, after swapping vehicla seats in BF3 I finally decided to order a KBT Race instead of the Pure.

 

Good choice, I couldn't take the lack of home/end/del/arrow buttons on Pure/Poker layouts and second layers... just don't want to get used to them

 

Alu case for my Pure is here and it looks awesome! Gives the board a much more solid feel

 

I would have gone with Keycool 84 over a Race. Those 1.5 keys on the top row are just about impossible to find replacements for if you want to change keysets.

My wonderfully rare keycaps arrived! I think the start key will be the most hilarious winkey replacement.

I also finally got that arrow only right shift I had been hunting for what seems like forever

and a set of numpad that has letters on the keys like a phone.

 

Where do you guys get your custom keycaps? The only place I've really found is eBay!

 

There's WASDkeyboards, QWERkeys, group buys on GeekHack, Elite keyboards get CC's. etcetera.

Hey all,

Thinking about getting a mechanical keyboard for a while now (thanks to this thread) and would appreciate your recommendations. I type quite a bit and do a lot of gaming when I can. I currently use a Logitech G15, of which over the 3 years I have had it I use none of the extra buttons or features (thought I might for MMO gaming at the time, my mouse serves that purpose with its 12 buttons).

So my requirements are for a simple keyboard really, I do find the backlit keys nice tbh (dunno if that's a bad thing in here as it seems people want to blank them out completely). Gaming and typing is the main use and it would probably be better to be fairly wide as the way my area is set out I use the keyboard on my lap.
