    Hey all,

My PC does a memory test before it gives me the choice of which OS to boot into (Which can take a minute which is getting annoying). There is no option in the BIOS such as fast boot or memory check and I was wondering if there was any way of stopping this?

I used to get this problem and then it stopped, I recently formatted (to dual boot XP with Win7 + because my PC was sluggish) and now it has started up again.

Is the memory test Windows or is it the motherboard checking the memory?

    Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L is my mobo.

    Thanks

i think that memory test is somehow connected with the mobo, not with the windows. as it's gigabyte then try to use CTRL + F1 keys combination in the main bios menu to show all bios options , including the hidden ones.
    luck!
