    Aloha,

once again asking for opinions on m-ATX motherboards...

So, i was going to buy the DFI p45 JR. however common sense caught up with me, and i realise i don't need Crossfire and its pretty expensive for the specs..

Would anybody with previous experience or knowledge be able to give me a quick recommendation?

    my only requirements are
    socket 775
    PCI-e x16 for my 8800gts
    running 8gbs at 800mhz
    4 sata ports.

a little disclaimer to say, i have been looking, for along time, but im indecisive and not sure what level of performance gear i would need for my activities.
    gaming
    adobe creative suite
movies + music + the rest...

i had my eye on the G43 + G45 Asus range... or the foxconn G45 boards.

    Thanks, and appreciated.

Depends... what CPU are you pairing it with and how much (if at all) are you planning to overclock it?

How about the Asus P5Q-EM? All the reviews of it I've seen have been positive and it outperformed the other mobo's it was tested against.

    thanks for the replys,

    @ Diosjenin

    currently running a E6400, stock is 2.13ghz.

has been overclocked up to 3.33 (pretty sure i could get more out of it :)) on my Asus P5W-DH
will try and get it up to 3.0 (under water if space allows) on my new setup.

in the future, i would expect to upgrade to a new 775 quad core,
i7 / Phenom II is a long way off for me yet.

    @ klutch

i had that in mind, will definately consider. anything cheaper? around the £70-80 mark?

Honestly, I have to vote for the P5Q-EM as well. Although your best bet is probably to look on Newegg (even though you can't buy there) for G/P/Q45 (and maybe G43)-based uATX boards, and read user reviews to see about overclocking experiences (or whatever other issues happened to come up).

Here's a link, with additional filters for including things like Gigabit Ethernet, PCI-E 2.0, etc. - you know, the other things you'd kick yourself for not getting.
