You know how when the mic is quiet you use that mic boost in adv options under sound, well i can't get to it for some reason and hence my mic is very quite with out it :|.

Anyone know what the problem could be, or a way to get around it and turn mic boost on :S??!?!?!

    system specs as followed

    E6600
    G-skill 4-4-4-12
    2X 3870's
    Lanparty ICFX3200 T2R/G

Removed old drivers, installed some new ones from realtek and, still nothing :\.

    Quite what?

Or, to quote Google, "Do you mean quiet?"

have you gone into the sound panel and made sure that not only is the system volume raised, but the microphone volume also. This works with xp, not sure about vista, head into sound panel and go to file > advanced, then mic boost if it's available there. If not, disregard this nonsense!

This might help you with your problem.

Had the same problem with my motherboard which uses realtek audio chip on it. This seemed to fix it for me :D

Agreed that it is counter-intuitive. Especially because (well in my case) it was hidden off the screen, and you have to use the not overly obvious paging arrows.
