Considering that these cover Home, Business/Enterprise and Mobile/Phone users I don't think 7 versions is excessive at all.

However, I don't like the return to Windows Mobile from Windows Phone but I do understand it due to the crossover nature of tablets and high-end smartphones, especially considering the use of Conitnuum.

I agree. Keep it simple, life be alot easier if any windows machine can be domain joined, instead of having to use windows intune to control a lesser breed of the client. Where if the sites licencer could have control of leasing features to the byod device that wouldn't normally be available to home edition windows. Or purchasable by the end user.

I'm hoping I can get hold of the pro version for £25 again.
