Change to Peaceful mode
You guys have to see this, Penny Arcades creative server;
Underwater lair and Skybase for evil operations added to checklist
I'm loving the lava base, mmmm, evil
The underwater base is in fact Rapture from Bioshock (spot the tower entrance)
Under water lair, credit to mattmc91 for doing most of the work (the tricky stuff anyway!)
Ye be welcome, Canon
atleast you know how to do it now, right? ^^
God hes rich
And he deserves it.
Kudos to all small developers.
Is the server full up, or are you still giving out the IP? If so could you PM it please?
This seems like fun.
I've only just started messing with Minecraft (thanks guys, I now have no time to do anything else) though, so it'll take me a while to figure things out. Any chance I can join the Bit-Tech server?
When will the server be back up?
Well, Stickeh turned it off because it was running really hot. So when Stckeh's around I guess.
Back now, it was very hot and loud! I really need to look at getting a lower power consumption unit, but can't afford to this month
Whoever was building in the 'hotel' I put up, good job!
Cool, I need a change from SP now
I can't really get in to this game. I played it for a few days and built an epic base with massive mine shafts going down to the bedrock. I got diamonds, red stuff, gold, everything I want, but I have no incentive to continue and I don't get how people can play this for a long time?
What is the incentive to keep playing? I have watched X's adventures on youtube, but he just builds and builds more elaborate mining operations, but there seems to be no reason for it and he achieves nothing new. He has lookout posts on top of his base, but what is the point of looking out? Nothing attacks your base, and there is no real reason to kill the creatures.
I could understand it all perfectly if there were rare loots dropped from the enemies, or you gained experience from killing them, or there were very rare artefacts deep within the ground. Things like that could keep me playing for a long time. But there isn't, so I found all the materials I ever need in my first couple of sessions, and now I feel like there is no point playing. As for multiplayer, it would be exactly the same but with other people. If you are going to spend time doing stuff in a virtual world with other people, I don't see why people don't just play an online game, or MMO.
those without imagination will find the game a bit lacking
seriously though, thats what the game is about: designing, building, creating. taking images and ideas from your brain and making them a virtual reality. some people enjoy challenging themselves, some enjoy an outside challenge (ie: points, loots, XP, etc).
Sounds like your more of an (MMO)RPG style person, looking for the next lvl up or quest, and thats fine.
Some of us just want a game that devoid of all that, and we can literally do what we want, when ever we want. Play for 10min (hahaha, funny) or 10 hours.
Minecraft is all about being a sandbox game in the most purest of forms - thats it
