I am getting a new LED TV and need a small PC under it. Could anyone suggest basic components in miniITX form factor that could turnover nice PPD? My budget is - £800 to £1000 on whole pc with slimline blu-ray in it. Thanks.

Base case for the base is Silverstone SST-SG06B Sugo - Black (with 300 W PSU), like here. So PSU is the limit. :thumb:

I wouldn't, if only because most mini-itx motherboards have only 3 or 4 stage CPU power supplies, which means that they are more likely to pop if subjected to prolonged high load. If you would want to do it, I'd at most get a CPU with a TDP of about 75w.

I used to run a Zotac itx board with a q6600 B3 on it and it ran fine.
I would say folding on the htpc wouldn't be a good idea as it won't pass the WAF due to the noise.

Thanks for the article. Need to think what to do now. Maybe I can find some really small micro ATX case then. Don't really want to have anything huge around the tv.

SG07 (coming soon) + Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 + Fastest Nvidia card you can fit in it. It has a 600W PSU and takes 12.2" cards. Fold on the GPU, let the CPU be, or drop in a 860 and run it at stock speeds - lots of threads ;)

Im currently testing if this setup will work with a 750 oc'd + 5870 (not for folding mind, but will load it up).

    Thanks Bindibadgi.

Hmmm, following bit-techs reviews and your suggestions (thanks) now I come to this set up:
    1. SG07
    2. i7 860
    3. Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3
    4. Nvidia GTX 465
    5. Corsair Reactor 60GB SSD (no need for much storage, have a NAS)
    6. Sony Optiarc BD-5730S 6x BluRay ReWriter (unless someone knows anything of slim-line BD reader/DVD-RW combo)
    7. Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 10666C8 RAM

    Any thoughts welcomed.
