[MOD] DeLorean - A BackUP to the future - UPDATE 21-04

hello guys
I began this mod for a long time
so there's a tuning competition which starts 24th april==>I have to very Extensively
It's an AT Tower (pentium2 233MHz) which i will use as a backup data center with 5 hdd for the moment

First I recovered the tower with polished aluminium (thickness=0.5mm)



I made the acrylic windows, tapped them and put a join



And we obtains that



Now the PSU modding



I also recovered it with polished aluminium



Ans the the windows.it 'is acrylic from CD box



An integration test



And finally I drilled for the AT connectors

What is that PVC looking connecter going to be used for and will you be painting it any particular color?

It's looking pretty slick for an old rig like that.

I will paint it in orange.This is a sort of screw which is utilized and hydraulic or electrical factories

And yesterday I found a name

DOLOREANE - A BackUP to the future

I worked all the week end on it...
I will show new pics tonight or tomorrow.I'm making the lighting of the elements and the case building is @ 95%

Second update after a big week end

a drill session for the psu in order to increase the air flow


I'll give you final pics of the psu tomorrow

The fan fixation to pu it on the fanduct.
I use acrylic tube

I made the plate which guzzles on the fanduct



now the front side
it will be made with depolished plexy and polished aluminium

sorry if this sounds abit rude, wheres the delorean theme? apart from maybe the metal frame..could u shed osme light on it please?

 

i'm agree with you.i called this mod in relation to oldness of the hardware and and the futurist design.==>an old harware/ a futurist backup==>come back to the future==>backup to the future
and i choose delorean because i love that name
but it's true that it was more apropriate to give to this mod more delorean elements
so the main reason fot this calling is the opposition beetween the hardware and the futurist design
but i'll try to give it more choerence with the famous car of the movie

 

yeah, I got excited when I saw DeLorean, but dissapointed when I saw it was just a title. It has inspired me to make a DeLorean case though!... just have to find time

 

If i''ve the time, i would like make a delorean case but the competition is next sunday and i know its existence since last friday!
==>10 days to mod a delorean case is very short and it was the most evoluted mod i have.
I am working on an other mod (which contains my full cooling) but i've much works on it again ..so i only can presents my backup data center
so in the future i'll try to make a real delorean case==>Delorean 2 =>the come back

 

nice start on the plexi work, its hard to drill holes in perfect spacing, looks like you did well.

sometimes i use Word to mock up hole placement and tape it to the plexi and drill the marked spots out. works well for thing hard to arrange just right.

a guy i know is making a delorean mod with linear actuators to open the side pannels like doors and was expecting simmilar.

u could give ur case the weird back to the future engine bits they have on the delorean, that could be cool

 

... so no flux capacitor ?? that would be a cool adition to teh case

 

I keep that idea when i"ll make the true dolorean case
i already have a part of the design and conception in my mind
