http://www.gamershell.com/news/14535.html few DOOM 3 mods are now available for you to download and play with (thanks GamesZone.ro). Here's the list (a first look multiplayer movie with some nice frags and tricky jumps is also available): GamersHell.com Local Downloads: DOOM 3 32 Player Server (35 KB) DOOM 3 Any OS (2.3 MB) DOOM 3 Gore Patch (1.3 MB) DOOM 3 Ultra Extreme Quality Mod (250 KB) DOOM 3 Coop (3 KB) DOOM 3 Chainsaw Only Mod (3 KB) DOOM 3 RocketDM Mod (3 KB) DOOM 3 Fight Club Mod (6 KB)
My favourite mod is the Flashlight Mod that adds a light to most of the weapons. Makes shooting in the dark a whole lot easier, and less scary. It's not fun walking into a dark room with your flashlight out, and having to change to a weapon as quick as the animation will go, not be able to see and shoot wildly into the darkness hoping you'll hit whatever's throwing stuff at you. Although that does add to the fear factor
I haven't tried the "duct tape" mod...although it does seem like it would be very nice. I have fire bound to mouse 1 and flashlight bound to mouse 2 so switching is pretty easy. I downloaded a "mod" from a thread at the guru3d forums that kind of helps. Basically, the pak file that he put out there makes it so that your muzzle flash will light up the room better (like you would expect a gun to do). It seems to be a good compromise.
Hey - why not try the Hello Kitty mod... http://www.gizmodo.com/archives/hello-kitty-meets-her-doom-019130.php Some people have way too much time on their hands...
ROFL! nice one... I'll definately get the flashlight mod when I decide to upgrade my pc and invest in doom 3.
Seems a little dodgy to me. I dont think I co-op mod could really be 3kb but who knows. I just hope its not that scam one going around that steals your CD-KEY ::EDIT:: well.. I cant figure out how to get it working anyway.
It probably is, I'd open the pak file and read the code myself. Shouldn't be too hard to work out what it really does.
