Hey guys, monitors are not my strong suit so thought id throw it on here to get some opinions https://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-...5ms-250cdm-2-hdmi-dvi-vga-frameless-design-ti Is the ASUS VC279H-IPS any good ? main uses below, budget is about £200 max gaming (mainly RPG, strategy etc) movies 3d modelling/textures (things on 2nd life style games) I think 1920x1080 will be best suited as its the best when paired with his GPU and how often he updates it. I know a 27" may be a bit big for that resolution but i thought slightly bigger would be better for films etc when hes further away. thoughts ?
It's OK really. Depending on GPU grunt you can always drive up the game resolution to 1440p (using DSR or VSR) so it's only really the demanding games that don't look so hot. If he's never used 1440p or above he would probably think it's great tbh.
Given the budget and intended use its perfectly fine. The problem is that if you wanted a good 1440p screen you'd end up well over the budget.
