i changed the red LED in my mouse to bl00 and i really like it when it stays bright, and i was thinkin, cud there be a way to make it soo it always stays bright rather than going from bright to dim after 2 seconds of no use?

It sounds like a wireless mouse...

If that's true, then you could wire it with a weak resistor [ less than 100 ohms ] straight to the batteries...

BUT THIS IS BAD BECAUSE IT'LL KILL YOUR BATTERIES IN MUCH LESS THAN A DAY.

    Seriously though, generally not recommended.

Then that's weird. Never seen a wired mouse with a power-saving feature :(

My MX500 doesn't dim, my bro's Wireless Explorer does though.

But yeh, xince it's wired, there should be a +5V and ground around there... look for where the cord that plugs into your tower meets the PCB of the mouse on the insides.

Use your multimeter, if you can, and it not, use a spare led to find em. Or hope it's the red and black wires

I've never had a wired MS mouse... but I wonder why they'd do that anyway... being wired and all.

I know what you mean by the dimming LED. I have an optical Logitech mouse as well, just a simple pilot mouse. When you go moving the mouse around the LED gets cool and bright, but when the sensors are 'inactive' the LED dims....

right.. im guessin sumwhere on the board theres a timer and it switches from one channel with a low resistor (when active) to a higher resistor (when inactive).. i think ill do some snoopin around inside the mouse :thumb:

Not really dimmer because of resistance... It's pulsed... So it's just timed to pulse very quickly, and be on only half the time...

Keep looking... I would just run it from the power, That's what my Firewheel does, It's always on high, just resist the 5v lead, and voila... always on.
