    Hello All:

Wondering if you can help me with a bit of a conundrum. Im moving to live with SWMBO in a few weeks, and due to not wanting to take my desktop (which desperately needs an upgrade btw) I thought I would have a look for a laptop that could meet my needs instead.

I play a lot of games and watch a lot of movies on my PC (all hail iPlayer). I also dabble in c++ and sql (via vnc to the database).

I was thinking of spending around £1000 - I dont particularly care if the battery life is crap or it weighs the same as a kitchen chair, I have a netbook for when I need to be portable and plan for this laptop to remain within the house.

Because of the c++ and sql Im after a resolution of 1920 x 1080 - no substitute for screen estate with code! (1600 x XXXX might be ok, but I would have to do some testing) and at least 4GB or ram.

Because of wanting to play games Im after a GT555M or GT560M (guessing at my price range the 555M) I guess this would allow me to play more recent titles for a couple of years, if I reduce the resolution a notch etc. Does anyone have an idea what the gaming experience is like on a 555M/560M?

Because my absolute addiction is Dwarf Fortress, and my work can hammer the cpu I would love a build with a multi core i5 or i7, say an i7 2620QM

The sort of thing i was thinking was like this from pc specialist

TL;DR Id like to buy an i5/i7 laptop for ~£1000 including a 555M and a nice screen. Can anyone point me to a website with something similar to this?
