i'm about to get a new hdd for my xp pc and was wondering if i'll be able to copy xp over to the new faster drive without having to install it again on the new drive. can anyone help?
yes its very easy to do... you wil need a program called Partition magic or any program that deals in partitions (someone might be able to show you a free piece of software that can do the same thing) and you should be able to copy your windows partition over to the new disk pretty easy
its maxtor maxblaster on maxtor drives or the are others. look at the drive manufature website for suport software
ghost will work too - just make a partition on the new drive the same size as yur old drive, and ghost it over.
