I bought a second screen a few weeks back, and after trying UltraMon, I've decided that such software is definitely necessary for anyone with multiple screens.

I'd like to try other such programs aswell before deciding if they are worth buying, though. UltraMon costs $40 and isn't 100% stable (has crashed on me a few times).

What alternatives are there that I could try?

I've got Display Fusion running. Got recommended by another on this forum. Has been running perfectly, no probs with it and have had it for a few months now.

Multimon is a decent free software for dual monitors; I use it at work for my dual monitor* setup without any problems. May not have all the bells and whistles of Ultramon, but hey, it's free :D
