taking apart the keyboard, you can see the 4 led's that will be changed in the middle above the f-keys
    [IMG]
here is a pic of the first led in place from the back
    [IMG]
and here is one with all the led's in place

now for a bit of trimming....

after putting all back together comes the moment of truth

for my next mod im going a little bigger, below is a pic of the side of my asus case, i will be dremmeling out the asus logo, fitting some clear plexi and going to run a blue cathode wire round it

i think thats more glare than anything. once you look at it at and angle once its on the desk then it aint that bad.
looks better than the standard green led's.

That's actually pretty cool! I'm going to do that to my motherboard. I just need to nip down to my local electronics store this weekend, though.

hmm I have a Logitech keyboard as well, with the LEDs in the same position. I've been thinking of doing this as well, nice to see that it's pretty easy to pull off ...

when all the lights are off it does light up the ceiling but its only bright to the eyes when you look down on it and of course no one sits like that at the keyboard :D

as for the side of my case it didnt turn out as planned :(
the dremmel heads were cack and kept grinding down too fast
to cut out the asus logo would have been too much effort for me anyway (dremmel novice)
so instead i went for a big window, backwards L shaped as i didnt want the ordinary plain square window you see every where,
i ordered my clear perspex today which is being frosted, so you wont be able to see the inside but there will be a nice green glow (didnt bother with blue light in the end), im off to pick it up in the morning, when its fit ill post some proper pictures, for now you will have to make do with this one :D
