I liked the circuit, but I wanted to try something.

(Cant get image to post, NE1?)

This has the same fading effect, with timing more along the lines of 2 seconds per output with roughly a 1/2 second fade. But by adding the rectifiers, I was able to use 6 outputs to mix the 3 colors.

    IE-

    Output1: Yellow
    Output2: Yellow + Red
    Output3: Red
    Output4: Red + Bloo
    Output5: Bloo
    Output6: Bloo + Yellow
    Output7: Reset

I used a 7805 with a basic 5+V walwart, and encased the whole thing in a black plastic box, which now is the base for a cool acrylic sculpture I got for my girlfriend awhile back. With the lights off, the constant rainbow effect is pretty nice.

You will notice that the resistence values for the LEDs are a little low, mostly due to the 0.6V drop of the rectifiers. I just kept using different resistors till I got the brightness/current that I wanted.

You know, normal people spell it "blue".

There's one thing you neglected to add to your post: PICS!
