First real attempt at modding. Usual stuff : window, ccfl's, clear fans, cable managment, vfd, watercooling (finally ), drive painting, door changed, blued led-madness,... todo : *inside, top : manage the cables from the psu because now it's just a mess * add a basic keypad to the vfd * cut a hole for the 120 fan to improve airflow from my radiator (now just the stock punched grills from the chieftec Pics (lot's of 'em)
It is a Noritake Graphical VFD, you can read everything about it here Nice window shape Got any more details about the internals? Looks like an Innovatech cooling kit, what CPU is it for example? Please add some more text, only pictures doesn't make a worklog... Also do you happen to have pictures from the modding process, it looks like a more or less finished case to me right now.
Innovatec indeed, kit 5 (with the single rad from inno) and an external tank because the one supplied with the kit (and connects directly to the eheim) didn't help much with the loads of air in the loop. Now I'm air-free Hardbits : XP 1900+, asus a7v333, asus Geforce 4 Ti4600, loads of ddr ram , plextor writer, bogstandard dvd,floppy,... and 2hds, one 5400 one 7200 (totalling 50gig). Unfortunatly only got my camera recently so no "make em while it's happenin' pics" The outside is indeed more or less done apart from the keypad for the vfd and cleaning up the baybus (there's an extra hole now where a previous switch was ) Still got a lot of work for the interior top though, cleaning up my wires (now they're just stuffed in anywhichway just to keep them out of sight and that hole for my radfan isn't going to make itself (a bit aprehensive to put that in since I just got my wc-setup the way I like it and it would involve taking everything out again - a process I just recently did to add the external tank (took me almost 4 hours - and cost me my dinner ) Might also add some sort of logo on the other side seeing as it's now just a blank silver door
Nice job, I like how you mounted the fan grill and the VFD. I also like the window shape, it's quite original imho. Nice job on the cable cleanup, it's sure a lot neater inside than my case!
A bought one, it's the external tank from innovatec - the Tank-O-Matic Could pull it off to build one myself, it'll leak all over the place
Love the style, i just looks right the fan and vfd looks cool. good job. A couple of questions about your VFD software: what program you running the VFD with? what does the screen with the little hard drive do?
LCDC is used, you can find more details in the bit-tech review and the thread in the article-discussion forum (a long read mind, approx. 40 pages now ) That particular screen show free/total space for all hard-drives (2 in my case), and it's animated : the disc spins and the arm moves, very nice...
It's a 100% Oh_No original Couldn't stand another rectangle window, and I had to accomodate the fan somehow : hé presto one original idea
