The mother board i find under that name is a DDR board,

Will it take my normal pc133 memory till i buy some or can i buy the same mobo but not the ddr version?

Please people, refrain from calling me an old timer and i need DDR, i know its tempting but still

nope, you'd need more ram as DDR is 184 pin and SDR is 168 if i remember correctly.

there is a non DDR, the epox 8kta3 or something, and there are other SDR boards still around

I think it is pretty good, but you always get better performance with ddr ram.

Go for the K7S5A if I were you!

I will go for the ECS K75SA if I were you on a budget! I'm using the same board and it is pretty fast. It also let you use your existing sdram first and then you can change to ddr later cos it has 2 slots for sd and 2 for ddr memory but you can not use both types at the same time! It is only about £60 so you can still buy a good AMD cpu with £110 possibly a athlon XP1500. Try going to http://www.hitechpc.co.uk/ they do very good price!

That ECS K7S5A isn't particularly great for overclocking though!

Well I'm running my XP1600@1575Ghz (150Mhzfsb) very stable! Overclocking the cpu with the bios not with cpucool.
What else can you ask for £60 with on board sound as well? The SIS735 chipset is not the fastest but is a very fast and stable.
