Hi all, got back from a lovely holiday to find my old Acer 17" has gone crazy and I now experience image shaking and flashing distortions on the bottom half to one degree or another, depending how much I hit it. New monitor time methinks.

Given I've just been on a nice holiday though, I'm a bit poor. So, can people please make suggestions for monitors in the £120 to £150 range please? I've been considering buying the ViewSonic VX2260wm for a while now, however a quick look on ebuyer shows that one can buy 22 inch monitors for a fair bit less, and 23" and 24" monitors for very little more. Image quality is fairly important though. I've never quite been as happy on LCD's as I was on my 21" trinitron CRT. I know that since I like my image quality I should probably be looking at 17-19" monitors for the money, but I just can't be doing with these tiny resolutions anymore. I grew up on 1600x1200, and so I'm thinking a 1920x1080 monitor is the way to go.

If anyone has any ideas, experience, or reccomendations they'd be much appreciated. I'm not sure how much more I can whack this Acer before it dies completely.

    I can't fault my BenQ G2420HD.

Images looks so much nicer than on my Samsung SM206-BW.

I've never really seen a proper expensive good screen/quality , but IMO this BenQ is pretty damn good.

PC Pro liked it, as did CPC IIRC.

The 2420HD is £156, but if you don't need HDMI, then the G2410HD at £136.22 is basically the same monitor just without the HDMI. These prices are from oyyy.co.uk

The BenQ monitors all seem to have been getting pretty good reviews recently.

I've got a Benq G2420HDBL lovely screen, LEDs make a nice cool screen and being 1920x1080 makes it a nice change from my 32inch LG tv and the price was just right £154 from ebuyer

Thanks very much guys. The G2420 is very tempting in some form or another, but I'm struggling to find any real reviews on it. Anyone know of any other sources that have done proper reviews on it?

For monitors i always suggest Samsung, they always seem to be such high quality from my experience.
