has to be a 24inch and my budget is 550$ has to have HDMI, DVI, HDCP, and can view/play etc in 1080p (if possible) im using an old 21inch crt monitor, which has reached its years of use over 10 years old. I was thinking about samsungs new 24inch with 10,000:1 ratio im a gamer, so that should be put into spec thanks!
hmm...doesn't say the price for US i'll look for it on net though, looks like an awesome monitor definitely
It's easy enough to convert £ --> US$. The exchange rate is as near £1.00 = US$2.00, as makes no difference. So in theory, you'd just double the £ figure, to get the equivalent US$ price. But of course it doesn't always work like that, because you folks stateside, can invariable get computer gear quite a bit cheaper than here in the UK The £400 for that monitor, would normally translate to $800... but I'm betting the monitor doesn't cost anything like that over there? Newegg don't appear to stock Hyundai monitors... but they do have plenty of other 24" screens which are well within your US$500 budget There are far lower priced ones (<$400), but of course you're wanting HDMI and 1080p... which narrows your choices considerably. But at $499.99... this Samsung 2493HM is right on the money, and Samsung screens are renowned for their quality looks Dunno what resolutions it does though? But most of the better/more expensive 24" screens do 1920 x 1080 (= full HD/1080p)
yep thats the same samsung monitor i had my eyes on but someone else on here said the lcd film technology is old or something not as bright?..i don't know what the difference is between TFT and all the others... PS: yea you guys get ripped off badly over there i'd go berzerk if i had to pay that much...
Just read more reviews on that Samsung LCD. not very good for 1080p or 1:1 scaling so i did all 24inch screens by best rating, and came up with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824255001 Westinghouse model, looks good to me, how bout yall? EDIT! I need an HDMI cable found this one, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812189054 the westinghouse doesnt have DVI, but it has HDMI My radeon 3870x2 came with an HDMI adaptor but i dont know what type of cable to get, has to be from 7-10feet long
I know a couple of guys in the USA on other forums who are using Westinghouse screens, and they're all happy with 'em And yeah... any HDMI - HDMI cable of suitable length is what you need
hmm. so having no DVI isn't bad at all right? as long as i hook the DVI-HDMI adapter to the back of my vid card, and hook it to the screen im alright?
Nope/yup However... it's been my experience, that dongles/adapters have a habit of 'drooping', due to the weight of the cable connected to them. It would be better therefore, to use a HDMI - DVI cable, so you have a direct connection from the graphics card to the monitor And IMO, it would be worth investing in decent quality cable - i.e. this AMC Premium Gold Series, to ensure the highest possible picture quality? It's only $18 after all, and why skimp on the cable - by opting for one which is <$10, when you've invested many hundreds of $ on the graphics card and monitor
Has it gone up $50.00 since you posted that link yesterday - 'coz it's showing as $549.99 now? Plus there's $24.64 S&H on top of course
Im gonna get the new Dell 2408WFP if i can find it anywhere but the dell site lol total rip-off heh anyone know anywhere else to purchase it?
I would recommend the 2408wfp, seeing as I am watching the Colbert report on it at my friend's house right now, and am selling my 20.1" Samsung 205bw to buy my own. Why has no one else recommended that?
You can have a look at the Acer P241WBD, this monitor got nice reviews: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic91201.html http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1232905 And I noticed that their price is quite nice, a recent deal on it is $400.
how much does it cost in quids? and to use 1080p HD, do you have to use an HDMI - DVI adaptor or can you use the full HDMI cable?
It has an HDMI connector, so no fiddling with cable necessary. It also has a displayport connector, component in, VGA in, 2xdvi in, an SD card reader etc.
