matrix orbital probably make the best displays i think. if you can afford it go for a nice big vfd like the Matrix Orbital VFD2041 or the VK204-25. as for mounting, erm, sum1 with a lian-li stuck their vfd/lcd in the 3 3.5" bays before, I'm trying to think who it was [searching for post]

Cheese: read through your LCD faq (helped me out alot) on all the little question i had. Seeing the LCD and the VFD, I like the VFD a lot more.

Sid: Checked out matrix orbital and looked at the 2 models u gave me. I am defintly going VFD, now what is the differnece between the VFD2041 and the VK204-25? The VFD2041 has keyboard interface and 1 general pupose output, and the VK204-25 has 25 keys interface and has 6 general purpose outputs. Now what one should i go with ? and what is the link that has pics of Phire's case that has a screen in it

thanks a bunch both of ya

You answered your own q about the diff between the VFD2041 and the VK204-25 - if you think you're going to use GPO's then go with the -25, if not don't (I think the keypad interface is largely redundant unless you're using the lcd on a keyboardless system).

    :)

alright, got some pics and need some help. The 1st pic is a pic of the back of the VFD2401 and the 2nd one is the VK204-25.

    http://www.matrixorbital.com/manuals/vfd2041/image008.jpg

    http://www.matrixorbital.com/manuals/vk20425/backslbl.jpg

they both have the power connecter and the com ports, then the VK204-25 has the input for the Keypad and 6 GPO (general purpose output) ;) found out what that ment. Now back at the VFD2401 it has the only 1 GPO. What will more GPO allow me to do? Any help would be great thanks. :D

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe that the top one will allow you to use a basic keypad that you could find on the MO website. But the bottom one will allow for much more sophisticated things...
