I need something that can turn grey bumpers black. Would vinyl dye from halfords do that?

I can't use back to black cos that just makes the bumpers look shiny grey, not black.

    Any suggestions chaps?

    Cheers.

    BBQ Spray Paint.

Honestly, Did my old corsa with it at least 4 years ago, still looks like new today.

I wouldn't think that kind of paint would last to be honest. My first choice would be a good vinyl dye from a auto-body supply shop.

Do you know if you can get something that I can apply with a brush or sponge? If I used a spray can I know I would get it everywhere. The bodywork is white so I need to be careful.

I would think that you could get something like that. I'd seriously go to an auto-body supply shop and tell them what you're doing and what your concerns are. They've more than likely run across other people who have the same concerns and can suggest a solution.

Not on grey bumpers.. My Volvo 850 has grey bumpers and the only thing that back-to-black does is to make them streaky.

Dad - You'd be supprised! BBQ paint is excellent for the job! It bonds together to form a coating, even used it in my mums fireplace where the flameproofing had been chipped off!

I used cooking oil once and it works remarkablly well. It was on my old 1.2 Corsa and plus it was cheaper than paint.

you have to clean it,rub it in real good, then buff it with a cloth..

Eh, I prolly just didn't want to spend that much time on it. I've used the stuff which is designed for grey bumpers and it's very easy and takes no time at all. It's like they say: "work smarter not harder" ;)

Not saying it won't. I'm just all for using the right "tool" for the job is all..

It'll protect your bumpers from a fire :p

Imagine, that, the car is toast except for a couple of pristine bumpers sitting each end of a pile of ash :D

Well I would personally remove the bumpers from the car prior to painting.
