Ok, I have set up standard networks before but I wanted to know if this is possible. Ok I have a 2 wire modem router combo and I access is with a USB HPNA adapter (works surprisingly well). I have been sharing my internet connection with the motherboards NIC to share with my second PC(straight cat-5 pc to pc connection). I have had my hands on a old computer I plan on using for a file server and I would like to also share my internet connection with it. So I have a NetGear MR314 wireless router and want to use it as a mediator inbetween the PC's. Will this work?

Yes it will work, but why don't you just take the computers and plug them into the router/modem combo NIC slot, that is if it has a builtin switch, if it doesn't just take a wire from the NIC port on the modemrouter and plug it into a LAN port of the Netgear router, and then plug a network cable in the other ports and into the other computers.
