    Best way I would do it, get a second cheap Switch, run it off one of the LAN ports and plug all PCs into that. Ebuyer do cheap 8 ports for about £8 that run off USB. Not sure where you can get cheap ones over there.

    ok here is how i fixed it.

    1. plug modem in to wan/lan slot
    2. reset modem to factory settings
    3. redo all setting in router
    4. look into getting rid of my nm700 microsoft router

    Do both PCs get internet access (at the same time) if you have the modem into the LAN port?
    If so, I'd disable DHCP on the router and try that.

    <EDIT>
    Nevermind, glad you fixed it. :)

    Crazy. You weren't even using the router! Just the switch!

    a lot of times, ISPs will give you a modem with a router built into it..
    my friend had the same problem with his verizon dsl
    try pointing your webpage to your modems internal ip address
    (or try a portscan or something to get it)

    then, if that is the case, you could either disable routing on your MODEM and use your MS router, or you could diable DHCP(Routing) on your router, and use your MS Router as a dummy switch.

    since you were getting internet before with it plugged into the wrong port, this is why it sounds to me like that is the case.

    you could always call your isp (unless they frown upon using more than one PC at once)
